Shoot The Messenger performs as a folk duo (guitar, hand percussion), or a rock quartet (drums, bass, guitars).
We have a solid four year record of performing around NYC,
including CBGB, The Back Fence, The Bowery Poetry Club, & The Red Lion.
We’ve also performed at a few national festivals (MEANYFest, NY, 2005 – 2008; Midpoint Music Festival, OH, 2006).

We can perform up to 3 hours of cover music from classic rock (Paul Simon
, The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Who), reggae (Bob Marley, Toots & The Maytals), to what I call neo-classic rock
(REM, Talking Heads, U2, The Police, Elvis Costello, Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers).
It’s a mix that goes over well at any event, public or private.
We have over an hour of original music, which is best described as ‘Bob Dylan meets David Byrne.’
Professional reviewers at TAXI (a songwriting resource, www.taxi.com) have actually compared me to both,
as well as The Who & Jim Morrison, while simultaneously describing my music as unique.
We have 10 songs that’ve scored 21 songwriting awards in
national contests, including The Billboard World Song Contest, and American Songwriter Magazine.
Two song lyrics have been selected for publication in Shabdaguchha, an international journal of poetry circulated in eight countries.
